you know…those lean, lonely days
when the rain wrinkles windows
the type that stays and stays
drowning, drumming drizzle
and you need to go outside
but you just think better of it
feeling nothing more productive
than the calming of the covers
because what’s it matter really
the world will not stop turning
and you give into the feeling
but you do not feel guilty...

and you give into the feeling
because what’s it matter really...

What a creative way to see it, dear Shellie.
Beautiful!

To give in to a feeling such as this one, has its good sides no doubt. And, no it doesn't matter, especially in the long run ...

Love,
Margherita

Yo dear Brneyedgrly,

As Mom used to say, walking in the rain will make you grow.

Beautiful!

~thanks so much, dear 'rita, for pointing this line out...however, i can't take credit for it.

one rainy day, when he was four years old, my little one said 'momma, look at the windows...they are all wrinkled with rain'...

it struck me... so i wrote it in his baby book and have always remembered it when it rains.

~hugs to my little guy~

Oh, yes. I too have had days like that. I just let myself go with the flow (of rain! lol) and listen to the rhythm of the falling rain.

Hey, brown-eyed beauty, I doubt that I will ever be able to see rain streaming down a window pane without thinking of your apt deacription "wrinkles".

Take my hand girlygirl and we'll go puddle splashin'...whaddya think?

Your wee one's words reminded me of my daughter in the early am darkness waiting for the school bus in kindergarten. The sun had just started to peak out from the tree line. She says

Mommy look! It's so fancy how the moon melted on the trees!

Children are poets by nature.

Loved this,

hey, heathergirl...

i would love to go puddle splashin' with ya sometime!  i think we would be fast friends, you and i...

love this:

"Mommy look! It's so fancy how the moon melted on the trees!"

i think you are right...children are poets by nature.  have you ever thought of using her line in a poem, or am i the only one who plagiarizes her child?  lol

thanks, for your kind words, girly...
