It’s a beautiful June Saturday in the hood.
The crowd is gathered
down at Mother of Divine grace Church,
it’s a packed house.

Bones and Griselda
are getting married.

All Griselda’s girlfriends
from the strip club are there,
along with quite a number
of male patrons of the club.

The guys seem a little down.
They’ll miss Griselda,
and they look with apprehension
at Bones,
they know he’s still carrying his blade.

He has a reputation.

Madame Queen is there,
tears streaming down her fat cheeks,
a far away “if only” look
in her beady eyes,
as she stares fondly at Bones.

Bobby

Bobby - seems like Bones is quite the ladies man. I thought I saw him and Griselda at the Lodge later that evening...

Thanks Bill,

Yes, they had a grand reception Saturday night.  Everyone was there.  It was a lively party, with Griselda dancing and everything.  Bones and Father John made sure everyone was on their best behavior.

I know you enjoyed yourself.

Well, a groom carrying a blade might well give some shudders ... but I am sure the wishes from all of those friends were sincere, as was the love between Griselda and Bones. And to judge from what you shared, dear Bobby, the marriage worked.

Love,

Thanks dear Brneyedgrly,

I'm pleased that you got a kick out of the poem Hon.  It's a long story.  Madame Queen and Bones have a history.

Thanks dear Margherita,

Yes, the marriage turned out very well.  When I say "blade", I mean a rather large pocket knife.

It's kind of a tradition here in the hood.  I never go anywhere without one.

Thanks dear Linda,

Yes and the wedding reception also went very well.  Griselda worked hard to make it an enjoyable evening for everyone.

Sounds like Griselda and Bones had a great Wedding Bobby but I can't say i'm real

happy about the blade. Lets hope Bones is a real Gentleman and doesn't do the lolly.

Thanks Lindsay,

What I'm refering to as a "blade" is a pocket knife.  I've always carried one myself.  Of course Bones is a gentleman.  I'm afraid that "Lolly" is a new term to me.  If it's bad, Bones wouldn't do it.

It was a great wedding, and Bones and Griselda lived happily ever after.
