I imagine you wish you hadn't got any on you
when we exchanged a smear or two there
passing too closely by each other not to
but then stopping long enough to acknowledge
and realize the fit would be perfect

it is always those look back laughter places
when I watch your eyes read the brail of me
like your fingers would if they could
but your toy man is always too close
so you just show me all of your wanting to

and you realize my morality shirt is still lost
in some tinman widows laundry basket
still far enough away from between us
that you only need to worry about your own skin
and if it is combustable when ignited

or if it would just be a little uncomfortable
and loose fitting when all our sins were done
and you only wore it to keep your heart inside
lest you left it somewhere with a stranger
and then went home with that empty again

praying just to be stolen by your own dreams

Such interesting perspectives, dear D.! Every line is a highlight in itself really.

You pack incredible psychological reflections into your work.... pardon, masterwork.

The perception of "sin" seems recurrent, but I think it surfaces because the "forbidden" seems to be so much more attractive ... Eve tells us!

The reference to "your morality shirt" is a fantastic example of your poetic genius. I am sure many of those who claim to be morally impeccable have no idea what they are talking about.

Love,
Margherita

This is so lovely that it almost reads lonely.

Sounded to me to be a pretty good pickup line for a laundromat   I enjoy all you post, but this one I set the stage. Hope you didn't mind.
