Forever In Your Heart

When the sun is just peeking through my window,
I can her her bell ringing upstairs, jingling,
then the thuds and thumps down the steps,
upon my covered feet, a hard pounce,

A soft purring in my ear awakens me even more,
biting my hair on my head, licking my eyelids,
then when all else fails, she lays in my hair,
wrapping it all around her like a cocoon,

No need for an alarm clock, she is a live one,
always on time, every morning, wanting attention,
finally I give in, pulling the covers back,
to the floor I abound, putting on my robe,

She and I go upstairs, as I make myself a cup,
of hot chocolate, she lays on my feet, rubbing,
still wanting attention, and I pick her up,
holding her, kissing her head, calling her name,

Shes so cute, soft, black and fuzzy, little,
but don't allow that to fool you, she is sneaky,
curious, getting into everything, always playing,
I laugh at how crazy she is sometimes,

When I write on my laptop, she wants to swat,
at the arrow on the screen, or walk across my keys,
she is tiny and cute now, but my life has been,
thoroughly enriched by her, she makes me laugh,

Big green eyes on a little head lol,
no tail, she is a bob, and fuzzy,
she looks like a little bear,
she is loving, she is Mocha.

LOL, kittens really are entertaining, and yes, they make great alarm clocks.
Mokie is a real cutie!

Yes MS..she is a handful ....but nothing is as rewarding as having the affection, when she lays with you, the companionship .....

Thanks for your reply

She's adorable, just like her mistress.

Cats always melt my heart. My little Furball snuggles into the hollow of my chest at night, and she always wakes me up by licking at my ears.

With love, Luke.

I just can't understand how anyone doesn't like cats, they have so many endearing qualities and ninety per-cent of them are a real treasure to own. Norma and I have an Oriental desexed male named Simba, who has brought us so much pleasure over the years.
My youngest daughter has a black cat, just like yours, and she has named him Oscar. He is her whole life and she loves him to a fault. I loved your poem, a delight to read. Thanks for sharing.
