Forever In Your Heart

A tiny flicker of light was seen,
out of the corner of my eye,
shinning through the tree leaves,
as evening shade began to fall,

Sitting at my open window quietly,
the noises of the evening all around me,
birds of different types chirping,
some close and some distant,

The wrestling of leaves as the wind,
flows through them back and forth,
distant cars traveling to unknown destinations,
then there is a silence, peaceful,

As I look around seeing beauty,
blue skies with cotton, white puffy clouds,
this moment is golden, like a painting,
picture perfect day to remember,

So I sit back, with legs crossed,
laptop in my lap, reading others thoughts,
as I am now writing mine,
this is the freedom we live and die for,

Just the moments of everyday life,
when you have the time to stop and think,
to breathe, live, wonder, and dream,
these are the moments that make you happy to be alive.

Exactly my feelings and perceptions of today too, dear ARH!

These moments are precious, when we remember to breathe and to be.

Beautifully written.

Love,
Margherita

fine impressionistic 'slice of life' write!

I am especially fond of the ending:

"Just the moments of everyday life,
when you have the time to stop and think,
to breathe, live, wonder, and dream,
these are the moments that make you happy
  to be alive."

sustained applause for this 'penning' !

Mr. Poet~ Bruce...glad you liked those lines, sometimes we are too busy in this world to just enjoy the day for what it is, we have to open our eyes, our senses to the beauty around us that is already there, a bright sunny day just makes me happy~

Thanks for replying~

These are the golden moments.

When I was fifteen, I would go into the woods behind my house with my notepad and pen to write. I was a hopeless romantic even then.

But those moments have been eclipsed by my time with you. No sun could shine brighter, no wind whisper sweeter, or heather I lay upon ever be softer.

With love, Luke.

Beautiful write.  In my recovery we learned how to meditate and be in the moment, not the past or the future.  Right now is all we really have.  This reminded me of those teachings.  You depicted it incredibly!
