Depression

Up and down the heart
Elevating
Sinking
Forgiving
Forgetting
Imbalanced thoughts
Seek silence and joy
But dreams envision sadness
Tracing the luck of others
Blurring lines kiss in passing
No passion or love felt
Only a desire to smile
Unforced and true
Not fabricated
From magic pills
Or intoxicating elixir
Spinning heads
Confusing reality
With somber thoughts
And sober moments
Fleeing shadows
Amidst dopamine drizzle
Waiting for a downpour
Under stormy clouds
Moods darkened
Laughter lost
A soul’s journey
Searching for peace
A piece of happiness
Others gifted from birth
Inadvertently we take
Making many a whole
Before summoned to a hole
Filled with tears of loved ones
Loving unconditionally
A feeling yet defined

I heard that, and agree wholeheartedly.
