Playing her instrument with hands and mouth The tune soft, and low at first Feeling the fingers work the strings by touch Creating a melody of ache and thirst He’s sending his notes to intertwine with hers Two distinct sounds become a song of sighs Both feel the heat of emotion they create Like electric fire seen between two eyes The music cascades and washes inside and out Overwhelms the senses in ever higher crescendo Then slowly, falls steadily to a whisper Bathed in each other’s harmonious afterglow |
