~ Nocturne ~

Hushed is the wind in every bough
The twilight hour is past and now
Dark clouds gather with the night
Spent is the golden day's delight

A night when leafy woodlands calm
Release a scented dew-laced balm
A gentle night that's sure to bring
The tawny owl on silent wing

And listen how it calls again
As skies caress the woods with rain
Where silhouettes of graceful trees
Whisper through the summer breeze

Till night unwraps her dusky palls
I wallow in the bliss that falls
And dizzy moths are just a dream
Around the smooth meandering stream

This fine night's charming place is mine
Where I can stroll in thoughts divine
When every quiet moonlit trail
Seems borrowed from a fairytale...

This is delightful, dear Heart2Heart! I love it all and particularly the conclusion:

When every quiet moonlit trail
Seems borrowed from a fairytale...

And a very lovely picture to go with it. I am happy that you joined us here at Pip.

Love,
Margherita

I see you have found new friends Katriona, and I see they appreciate your poetry that I have missed. Your poetry is as ever wonderful in its description of nature, beautifully written.

elegant and loaded with romantic visuals
reminded me of early morning, before dawn...and the so quiet movements of nature...

very much enjoyed

H2H,  Ya know, I never thought about which kind of poetry I like, one vs. the other.
I love poems that rhyme and tell a story best, and what better to write about but what we know.

Love your nature poem.
Tracey.
