there's a place inside where memories lie,
where pictures of the heart are stored,
where emotions too sensitive to frequent abide.

it's under lock and key and visited in solace,
but somehow, on occasion, things seep through some open crevice,
and at times - when least expected - the flow comes gushing through
and I'm reminded that there's something there.

tears fill my eyes and I ponder if but for a moment
the feelings my very core has protected.

so let me be.
leave me to think.
allow my moment to be spent in reflection;
and if I don't share every waking thought,
thank me later.
you probably wouldn't care to know.

shelerella75 - at times those memories are buried deep never to surface. Some of them though I believe are worth remembering...

There are moments to experience on our own no doubt, but there are hopefully always those who care and deserve to know.

Beautifully said.

Love,
Margherita

I think this poem re-emphasizes to me that even though we are not meant to share everything - it can be lonely not to.

Thank you.

brneyedgrly,
I think we understand each other!

BC,
yes, so many are worth sharing, thank God.

Margharita,
thanks, yes... some do care!

Alison,
maybe you understand me best of all!

... and, therein, lies the beauty of poetry.  You can share in a manner that allows you to step back and release the thoughts that kind of churn and burn away.

I really am enjoying you here and smile when I see you have posted a poem.  I am there reading, believe me.
