~ Memories ~

I have a memory of youth, the sweet
Nostalgia of June-time days that with
My memory plays when skies are aglow
With cherry blossom white as snow.
I see myself the way one does in dreams
Moving slowly in a daze amongst the trees
A blur of silk and sequins rippling like
The silver light that on the water plays
In late afternoons as I wander in
The glade where wild lilacs grow in
Dappled shade. When I could not help
Myself to fill my arms with lush and heavy
Blooms, bury my face deep in rich perfume.
I'm loathe to leave the verdant glory as
Twilight fades, shadows creep and clouds
Like full blown sails ride like galleons
Drifting through blue seas, and leaves ripple
And sigh against a spacious sky on summer
Nights when light forgets to die. And thinly
Above the sapphire sweep of hills the milky
Moon glides in grace to settle in the
Velvet dome of stars bright as angels' eyes...

It is green, it is pastel, it is rainbow and it has all the hues. A really charming poetry.
