My senses awake, I'm amongst the crowd
but sleep still beckons my head
The rush cometh, and I am swept along
and the journey begins to begin
Faces of white, pink, and brown,
faces masking their souls
Lives lived fully, and some sqandered away
but how are we to know
We look one to another, day in day out
with the weekend our only respite
When Monday harkens, we do respond
and the rails again take flight

She always sit's there, he stands by the door
the charactors know their place
Some are in meander for a single event
but most plod the tracks for haste
A place to be, a time to be kept
the journey a means to an end
Talk is stilted, though travellers abound
with faces as fimiliar as friends
He had more hair when I first rode the rail
and her face held the blush of youth
But here we meet, two times a day
and to me their lives are mute.

Thanks for that, I feel I am a little out of my depth here but "pragmatic" poetry seems to be my form of expression.

This is extremely brilliant and inspiring. I myself am young and wish i could write as deep as you. It would be more of a pleasure if other people came up with stuff like this...i guess some people just dont have it. I am a new poet and have viewed various posts you are definately a favourite. Thank you sonofgloin

Freeze, many thanks, poetry is the supreme form of "different strokes for different folks", but for myself if I have to fight through descriptives to find the theme, I give up. So I write pragmatic poetry, hopefully not too obscure. Glad to find someone who observes more than the eye see's, but that is a tenet of being a poet so attributable to all I surmise on this forum....thanks...Paul.
