Orchestrating Spring

Pussy Willow purr while Dogwoods bloom
Sandhill cranes easily join the show
Geese sing loud songs, honking out of tune

Strident sunshine smothers winterís gloom
Solo voices soar with golden glow
Pussy Willow purr while Dogwoods bloom

Frozen rivers compose sonic booms
Flowing water hums as channels grow
Geese sing loud songs, honking out of tune

Slender branches rattle witches broom
Needles whisper as the west winds blow
Pussy Willow purr while Dogwoods bloom

Vibrant flowers clutter forestís room
Graceful shimmy weaving to and fro
Pussy Willow purr while Dogwoods bloom
Geese sing loud songs, honking out of tune

I do hear the captivating sound of Spring in this beautifully written poem, dear Alison!

It springs off the page in sweet harmony, even if the geese are out of tune ...

Love and hugs.

Those d*a*m*n honking geese... They poo all over our dock

Everyone deserves to be loved, even you.

Absolutely delightful, Alison.  Just need to tell you that geese always honk IN tune.  But they and I will forgive you.  Smiles.

We are experiencing Autumn here, of course, so your poem is particularly uplifting!

Dear Margherita,

I knew you would hear the song.  Thank you for listening.

Love,
Alison

-

yann,

A sensitive soul like yours will always hear the song of spring.  It's good to share it with you.

-

Paul,

Yep, they are a poopin' buncha geese. Lucky for me, they only stay for a bit before heading out to remote areas to nest.

Steaven,

Heard by a talented conductor - thank you.

Alison

-

brneyed,

This is a villanelle and I wrote it as an assignment for the Poetry Workshop. I am really working on this form of poetry because when it is done right - it captures me.

Thank you.
A - still struggling with the form (grins)

-

Bill,

Thank you for reading, and commenting.  Happy spring - it's almost summer!

Alison

-

Bobby,

It's nice, huh.

BluesSerenade,

With a name like that, I knew you would hear the music.  Thank you.

Thank you, dear Diana.  You know that they are in tune in the souther latitudes and out of tune in the northern.  Yep, that's true. I am a geographer - I know these things.  I really do!  --- grins

Love,
Alison

-

Rachael,

Glad that I helped make your day a bit better.

Like walking through verdant woodlands, it's as though I can smell those beautiful flowers.  A joy to read.

Alison, just listen very carefully to the northern ones again, and you will hear the tune.  It is a form that needs a specialised ear to hear.  I just wouldn't want them to feel hurt by what you said.  They will know you don't mean any harm, but they will be hurt that when they are calling so beautifully to you that you don't appreciate the full quality of their honking.  Smiles.

The music in this poem calls me back to my young years. We knew it was Autumn or Spring by the passing of the wild geese playing their lovely tunes! I enjoyed this very much and it puts me in the mood for Spring.
