Bones kid Angelo
works the Pizza Hut
down the street.

One of the chicks working there
owns an old converted bread truck
that’s been converted into a van.

It’s outfitted with sleeping facilities.

The Pizza Hut kids
had loads of fun
with that van.

The kids did everything
from overnight sleepovers
down at Penn Treaty Park,
to trips up to Willow Grove
Amusement Park.

Bones would have loved
to come along,
but of course he couldn’t,
he was just too old.

Bobby

Everybody deserves those sort of memories.

Bones should round up some older friends to do the same. I'll come along.

Bones needs to get out of the city, He should hitch-hike out to Colorado and go mountain climbing.

Thanks Paul,

For the good wishes for Bones.  Bones already has those kinds of memories.  Penn Treaty Park is just down the street, and around the corner.

Thanks Tracey,

Bones has been out west, it was fun.  He loves the city of Philadelphia, and would never leave it.

Thanks dear Bloodline,

The hood is an old, dark, and dirty place, however our kids are sweet, and kind.

Mentally, he was too old, Bobby?  Good poem - this is up there among the best of the Bones poems.

Thanks dear Alison,

Bones was too old physically, and mentally.

Angelo would feel a little uncomfortable with his old man tagging along in the van.

Angelo was quite a "hound" then.  Now he's married, and quite settled down with his lovely wife.

Bones was wise to realize that he was too old, Bobby.

I think I just picked up on something that I have missed up to now.  You are Bones?  Or Bones is based on your experiences?

Hugs to you,

Thanks dear Ida,

You have it right.  Those kids were just way to wild for old Bones.  Bones is the Patriarch around here.

I'm a little late, I haven't logged into the forum for a couple of weeks. But I like your thoughts, I too look at the younger kids and remember what I use to do and wanted to do. I was born in Utah, lived most of my life there and yet never learned to ski. Right in the heart of the best powder snow in the world. oh! we did not have the oppertunity that the kids have now eather.

Love 'un stuff

i'm 27 but i still feel like playing with some good ol' GI-JOE'S at times...these movie remakes of the Joe's and Transformers aren't making it any easier either...*sigh*

Thanks dear Billie,

All of Bones kids seem to work hard for what they get.  Bones has been fortunate that way.  They all left the nest rather early.

Thanks Joe,

I'm sure that there is nothing wrong with playing with GI-JOE'S, and stuff.  That sounds like fun.
