the sign over the door said experienced
and I knew you saw it when you read it out loud
and did the wicked chuckle thing with your eyes
like you wanted something used to use yourself

you said I was probably one of the better rides
but you didn't want to take me too far
felt more safe sitting on the fence I guess
and watching others taking their turns

I used to see you every now and then
girl footing in the easy dirt outside
biting your lip as if to keep from speaking
but your eyes always said almost everything

I had planned on letting god be my judge
but you said you wanted to do that too
since you didn't want to take me home
that would feel better then nothing at all

and besides you didn't think I would notice

You write some wicked sweet poems sir.

I think I've been in this situation once or twice before.

That's the thing about signs. You don't always read them.  I mean, who hasn't gone into the wrong bathroom at a bar... we're talking unintentionally here. :-)

My wicked chuckle isn't limited to my eyes as I read this... love it! *S*

Good poem, not a big fan of prose poetry, but I liked the depth contained within your words.
