A heart is dangerous to bear
To fall in love i wouldn't dare
My heart will stay in hiding
For i fear that it will rip and tear

Love can only be sought after
Someone to fill your life with laughter
But where would i find such a person?
Tell me when you know.

Smiles, hugs, kisses, love
I've heard tales
It happened only once for me
I wont let it happen again

To give your heart away
Is a mistake in disguise
It ends in hurt
And you'll remember pain and lies

My heart yearns to love
My mind says "No it won't be fair"
To fall in love?
I wouldn't dare.

*I dont feel all the things i write about personally. This is one of them. Its not really my view of love but i suppose it is someone else's. For some reason poems like this come to me, even if they dont express my personal viewpoint of a subject.

I think many can relate to these feelings, and that is the good thing about poetry, it doesn't "have to be" about you personally to be good
