I can't believe how stupid I am,
I thought I saw you walking by
in the hall at school. I swear
I saw your face, your chocolate eyes.
I swear I saw you there.

I can't believe you're really gone.
I thought I saw your red plaid coat
The one you always let me wear.
I saw you and I thought I'd choke.
But you weren't really there.

I can't believe how much it hurts.
I thought I saw your teasing smile,
the one that's filled with tenderness.
I felt like I'd just run a mile.
My heart stopped; soared in happiness.

I can't believe the aching loss.
I thought I saw you, lost my breath,
and yearned to run and hug you tight.
When you left I knew what death
was all about and thought I'd die.

I can't believe I fell for it.
I thought that it would just be "We."
I thought that "us" would never break.
I guess it wasn't meant to be;
I guess that you weren't mine to take.

I can't believe how stupid I am.
I thought saw you, heart in throat;
I melted into a molten pool.
It wasn't you. My heart re-broke.
I can't believe I'm such a fool.

This poem was so heartbreaking, you described everything so well it was as though i was watching you going through it all.

This painted a really good picture. You are an amazing poet to write such a fine poem!!
