I won't juggle sharpened knives
that whirl in the air
and spin back into my arm
killing the emotion

I won't dance with devilish imps
who grab hold of my hand
and pull me round and round
until I drop to the floor in defeat

I won't paint on a clown's face
or wear their daily mask
on my naked expression
hiding my true feelings

I won't jump through flaming hoops
requiring me to entertain crowds.
I'll sit and watch. I'll wait,
for them to put on the clever show

I refuse to entertain yesterday's pain.

Good message - There is no easy solution to actually dealing with the pain directly, going through it, and moving on.  Life experiences are what make us who we are and all the better for them.
