The poor man lies beaten
having not eaten
for a week.

His pockets lay empty,
like so other many
of the poor.

The street is his domain,
laden with rain
and rats.

His clothes are muddied,
his face sullied.
No complaints.

Men died out there daily,
survive long rarely.
Cruel world.

But to him this is life,
and he will fight
to keep it.

"Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,
Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortals ever dared to dream before;" -Edgar All

I got the chills,
Not the bad ones,
The good ones
