I walk in the school gates Plaster a smile on my face While inside I am dying. I answer questions One by one Whats your favourite colour? Pink, i say Whats your most used clothing piece? Skinny Jeans, i say Whats you favourite movie? The Notebook, i say Whats you favourite book? I dont read books i read magazines, i say Have you heard the latest goss? Are you gonna suck up to your boss? What are you gonna wear tomorrow on you date? Will it be that t-shirt that says "Im your fate"? They smile and laugh with me. I was sick and tired of lying The next day I answer questions One by one Whats you favourite colour? Purple and Black, i say Whats your most used clothing piece? My sweatpants, i say Whats your favourite movie? Sweeny Todd Whats your favourite book? The Sleeping Doll They ask me Are you kidding? Please tell me your joking!! Are you lying? They start to chant and scream Jeer and sneer Smile at each other and laugh at me I walk home The last sound i hear is "You emo goth, go play with your vampire friends!! Even they would dog you!!" And some other things i would rather not repeat... I sit at home pretending to be sick People have always told me be yourself and you'll make friends... They lied But then i call up my one true friend and ask her what is wrong with me? And she says what i tell everyone who has been through the same things i have: They are snobs, dont listen to them! They hate people who are different. Its good to be unique, love yourself for who you are not who others want to be. Note~I never let go of those words that healed so many wounds i hope you wont either... Madelyn |

people are so rude!!! my sociology teacher asked us once define normal...... no one answered... normal is someone youll never meet... its better to be yourself. always Krysti |
