I know
that we both said goodbye.
But I miss him.

I know
that we said it was best.
But I want him.

I know
that it would never work.
But I need.

I know
that we're too far apart.
But that doesn't stop me
from needing his laughter.

I know
that my parents would never accept him.
But that doesn't stop me
from wanting to see his brown eyes.

I know
that I don't deserve someone like him.
But that doesn't stop me
from missing his warmth.

I know
that he's miles away from me.
But that doesn't stop me
from pretending he's here
and that all's well.

That he still loves sme.

But I miss him.

Awe! I think everyone might know how this feels like. And if not, your poem sure does explain it nicely. Good job!

Wonderfully written.  I think that in the fourth stanza, "to" should be "too" though.

I wish I could tell him but I don't want to... how to say this? Push him when he doesn't want to be pushed. I think that that could ruin our friendship. It really would be very difficult for us to be together. He's gone away to boot camp for the marines and I still have my junior and senior years of high school to complete. And as stated in the poem, my parents would never accept him. He's of a different religion and doesn't act like the perfect little angels my parents expect me to date. But I am still writing him letters and we're still very, very good friends. So it's not as bad as it could be.=^.^=
