I will continue to wait for the day
when the earth splits open,
allowing me to reach you at your core.
For under the several layers of rock
hides something pure.
It is you in your true form,
untainted by the sins of the world.
And as I continue to wait for that to occur,
I will dig into the earth,
drawing closer to you every inch I dig,
and every day that passes,
until our hearts come together as one.
