I want to see the stars again.
I miss them very much.
So close that you could hear them speak,
So close that you could touch.

They told me stories of yesteryears,
As I lay and look above.
Of hope, despair, truth and lies,
Stories of precious love;

But they told me that a star,
As old as they can be;
That they can look back down at us,
And this is what they see:

Even though in times of war,
There is that speck of light.
That spark of love, how big or small,
Shinning boldly bright;

The lights of love shine back on them,
Showing one inch of hope:
That even how sick the world may be,
One day we’ll learn to cope.

And so they would shine every night.
Just to show us all,
No matter how hard you get knocked down.
Brush off and stand up tall.

I’ll have my stars, they love me back.
Something you never could do.
I’ll stick with them, say my prayers.
And say good bye to you.

I haven’t seen the stars
For almost a half a week.
They do not shine at all at night.
Not even a little peek.

I wish they would come back again.
And help me through the night.
Light up the summer sky,
With a shinning wishful light.

Since you left, the stars have gone
And left me laying here.
All by myself, alone at last,
Wondering when they would appear.

That’s when I began to realize,
What it was all about.
I didn’t believe it all at first…
But really there was no doubt.

I loved you almost as much as the stars,
And without that they’re gone,
Disappeared with out a trace
All hope of love withdrawn.

I’m not ready to get up again,
And hold my head up tall.
The risk of being broken,
And in fear that I may fall.

I want to have my stars back.
To get me through the day
To wish me good luck and tell me good night
And promise that they’ll stay.

But until they come back again,
I guess I’ll have to resist.
And wish upon a shooting star
That no longer does exist.
