Pot Kettle Black

I just want you to know
I understand this mess
Deep inside this black hole
I have something to confess

When we lie side by side
Our bodies sigh as one
No words are needed
Nothing needs to be done

I think I understand you
I didn’t ask for any more
I thought I understood you
Now I’m not so sure

What happened in this spiral
Of confession and regret
The lines don’t match up
I feel like I’m in debt

I don’t like this feeling
Of a glassy loneliness
Can’t unknot these fingers
From this tearstained mess

My words taint my lips
I can’t seem look at you
Where did I go wrong
What happened to us two

I chew my nails down
To signify this pain
You words are engraved
Marked with your disdain

I don’t know what I’ve done
To cause this twisted chaos
I don’t know how to fix it
Or just maybe all is lost

I just want you to know
I don’t want this anymore
We can fix it, we are all
But…
Now I’m not so sure.
