I am a duality,
with both light
and darkness
within me

The darkness
resides in
the undertone
of each sentence

And the light
draws you in
to every word
that is spoken

So that there
will be no
question of
the intent

Behind the
beautiful words
that are clouding
your head

But the malice
is still present
and will not
remain dormant.

"Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,
Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortals ever dared to dream before;" -Edgar All

Very true.

Normally I like for a poem to rhyme, but I adore the simple flow of this.

Wow, i liked this a lot, it seemed very clear and understandable.

With God I am happy; sadness has no say in my life.

To me, the lines regarding the light seemed almost seductive, as if the outer innocense was a snare.
The lines describing the darkness seemed honest as well as cynical.
Overall, I really liked how both elements balanced each other out.
Btw, is duality a word?

There is power in the pen.
