Merry Christmas
my old friend
you are sleeping inside me
wishing you would stay in seclusion

I have no presents to exchange
I resent what you give to me
throughout the year
let me make this clear

you twist me like a pretzel
not knowing how to undo the knot
increase my meds, why not
put my family on the spot

I want to put up a fight
but your out of sight
My new years wish offers a fright
living everyday not knowing when you will strike

Your brutal sadness
which brings me close to the end
no hope is all you lend
new year wishes i do not send

Looking down the road offers a scare
What you do to me cannot compare
so no one really understands
what lives inside this scared man
