It’s been 2 years now, yet the future is bleak
I lost my heart and head, and I feel weak
I tried to dream, to live and love
Yet none of it will happen
No rest for the meek

I wish I was stronger, but no strength will come
No one to reassure me, my faith became undone
Everyday a struggle, a life full of chores
No kind words spoken
Soulless I have become

Endless streaks of misery, no love, just despair
I tried to tell you, but you just didn’t care
You only want your own way
To behave like this
To you seems fair

You never listen to what I have to say
You never change, the same cruelty everyday
I tried to warn you
I tried to scream
No all what is left, is going away…

Very sad piece. If things could be better, they most likely would be by now. At least in your heart, you know you tried, you know you endeavoured to persevere

Enjoy the lilted tense with which you wrote here. Good 1st piece, glad I stumbled back home.

"No rest for the meek"
~this? a sad *bleepin' truth. was told once,
"..nice guys finish last, they are too busy trying to make sure everyone gets outta the blazing building safely.."
Sometimes we are destructive to ourselves to cater to others emotions, but sometimes we must choose to know our worth and get'ta walking.(said warmly)

Enjoyed the thoughtful format! Be well and don't settle fer less

"..But a tyrant spell has bound me,
And I cannot, cannot go.."
