Not much going on in this topic, so I shall answer my own "proto-haiku" with a "sort of tanka"...

Twice in two weeks I
came through, then twenty years of
painful servitude.

What is there to understand?
Liberty, freedom, justice?

LOL, one could title that something like "The Pledge", if a title is fervently desired. Yet the words stand on their own.

Poets do not shoot fish in barrels, we woo them---and the barrels, too.

Too many morons
stumbling around just looking
for someone to hate.

Despise my Okie disguise,
moron. Someday you'll be wise.
