Turning never tiring
The wheel of dysfunction creaks
Every inured joint screams
Rusted seams and cracked walls leak

Calloused hands poised to cause harm
Biting words from screaming lips
Heart oozing bilious hatred
Broken bones and shattered minds inevitable

Turning faster
The wheel creaks louder
Bruises once hidden in shame
Now trophies to be admired
Submission now a tool
Fate no longer certain
She appears to wish to please
Her eyes cloak her true desire

Turning slower
The wheel has stopped
A coroner zips a bag shut
The murderer in custody smiles
Fate has closed this chapter
Not in the way you thought
The abuser is in the body bag
And his victim finally free

No postmortem journey is rife
with more mystery than life.

wow what a poem. so disturbing with a twist at the end.the thought of someone being abused so much it drives them to murder to be free of their abuser. you can just about feel the pain they suffered and the relief they felt when it was finaly over. i loved it..... nice one

Man, what a twist. Yes, beautifully disturbing, fascinating subject, well written, intelligent, great job, Poetess.
