It was a mix of words They swarm around me And consume me Dark little secrets Laid out in my head This night I dread Your cold voice Calls me in the night I lose all sense of what is right You draw me in And all I want is more I step forward to your door I see your eyes They kill me inside Your touch takes me for a ride An illusion it was A piercing pain Shoots through my veins A murder Caused by Your lullaby "Love is a dance. Some have it easy and others struggle." |

I used to have a hard time figuring out how to write dark without suicidal depictions or gory glory, but I really like the simplicity of this poem. Well done. Does she pray, or am I prey? |
