Her I am sitting in the blues.
Only sorrow fills up my mind.
Troubled thoughts are inside,
nothing is clear.
I'm in a fog,
that crawls across my mind.
Depression is near,
I feel only fear.
Sadness and sorrow are ever so near.

My mind is numb and only darkness is here.
Thoughts are strange,
coming into my mind.
Sitting here in the dark.
I feel alone,
as though I have died.
My life seems so glum, nothing is real.
I just want to get away from here.
Tears are inside,
as my spirit dies.
Leaving me in the darkness of my mind.

In the blackness of my mood,
only dark thoughts come alive.
Depression has grabed hold,
not wanting to let go.
So I go the whole day through with thoughts of darkness in my head.
Thoughts that no one would ever understand,
so alone I stand.
In the blackness of my mind.

depression is always by my side,
everyday it's alive inside.
I fight to stay alive,
trying to rid of the blues,
from my mind.
That always comes alive,
inside.
I wish only to write,
to get my feelings out.

I do believe that I understand your last stanza here, about composing poetry, I mean. You write well, please continue!

I often think we are given these dark times, in order to appreciate the light of hope when we see it.  Well done.

And i believe we are given better times so we can truely contemplate how terrible the world can be.

Writing is helpful. Kinda like you are your own shrink. I overcame a major problem I had about letting go of the past through the writing of soul-bearing poetry.

I can so relate to this poem - all of it.  Tried to pick one or two things that hit home most of all but with every line I thought of, it brought three more to mind!

You have certainly touched on the "reality"(?) of depression.

A wonderful write, will certainly be looking for more of your poems.

This appeals to me in every way because it reads like a page out of the Wayfarer.
