Just a nightmare I had.. that seemed too real, to be honest. I had to leave out alot of gruesome details (cos' of Pip rules) This is probably the most dark poem I've ever written to be honest.
---------------------------------------------------

Well here it is again.
The morning dew settles among leaves
Outside my barred room. decor in white
No one has a sense to believe

The stories I go and tell
Tell me I'm crazy for it must be so
Look into their eyes. Play it cold.
"Am I just another one of your woes?"

Do they notice it?
The reality I have isn't strange.
Yes they hold my invisible chains
But not all of me is derange!

"I'm not crazy!!!"
Just a voice to echo on the walls..

Tell me doctor.
Learned men should be aware
Not to mess with many
For voices tell "beware..."

Lively little rodents
Are eaten up by cats
I'm subjected to experiments
Like laboratory rats

So put me in my cage
For intelligence there's not a spark
Lock and hide the key
Leave me rotting in the dark.

Good write Zach. Yep, about the darkest by you that I’ve read. Your poem had that same dark feel as room 101 in Orwell’s 1984, especially the rat line. Here’s a link to a scene in case you haven’t read the book yet. http://cc.bingj.com/cache.aspx?q=rat+1984&d=4703633502308208&mkt=en-US &setlang=en-US&w=7c708e0b,ef3bc659
I used to worry about my nightmares until I found out they’re simply the product of an active imagination, combined with reading too many sci fi novels and snacking on strawberries and leftover 4 cheese pizza before I go to bed..   Have a good one!

Clever title, too, btw.

Thanks Jenn! Your right. That does sound alot like Orwell's story. Not a big fan of rats and bird cages to be honest.
