The rain is loud on the window when it taps Keeping me depressed inside, workin on my raps Rain clouds follow me around, driving me absurd Saying it's gonna get better, not hearing a word My smile is forced, acting like emotions are evil My style is warped, like showing love is illegal Distance myself from others, save me from the untrue Sometimes I put up walls, to see who breaks through Waiting for good news to show up, I'm losing control Rain is taking a toll on my mind and body, spirit and soul I fake happiness and hide pain, I smile and joke That helps me keep composure around my folk Wake up and see that darkness has come today Say goodbye to hope and happiness, it's run away Lookin for heaven, off in all the wrong places I've given up and don't expect many sad faces Put whiskey in my cup, my problems begin to drown Soon as the buzz leaves, problems come back around My ill feelings keep adding up, to be alone I prefer Old counselors steady calling, But i'm avoiding her They say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger You'd have to be superman, to lift as much as me partner When the bad weather comes to rain down on my parade Just raise up my umbrella and wait for the storm to fade |
