BLIND How much easier my life would be, If I didn’t feel the way I do. I often wish that you could see, How deep my feelings run. You’re blind, completely blind, Oblivious to the things I should have said. Yet my mouth ran dry every time I had the chance. Before I knew where I stood, The chance had gone. Thought that through the act I played. My feelings shone. But there's no point in looking back, Wondering what might have been. Look forward, And forget what it all means. Leave my heart to grieve the things I've lost, Let my head move on with life and love. No matter how much I yearn to stay in the past, I have to let my head rise above. You’re blind, completely blind, Oblivious to the things I should have said. You mean the world to me, Yet you don’t have a clue. To you I’m just a friend, Nothing more, nothing less. Yet my feelings lay unaltered. I wish it wasn’t true. If I didn’t feel the way I feel, My heart would still be in one piece. Rather than scattered, And shattered in a million ways. Why can’t you love me? The way that I love you? Why can’t your eyes see deeper, Than the surface that is there? Why can’t you care? You’re blind, completely blind, Oblivious to the things I should have said. I need to forget and move on, But it’s harder than it looks. Why can’t I have the happy ending? That you get in stupid books. Since meeting you I've learnt a lot of lessons, Life doesn’t belong in a fairytale, And happy ever afters don't come true. Instead you're left to sob and weep, They never feel the same way too. How much easier would my life be? If I didn’t feel the way I do. Leave my heart to grieve the things I've lost, Let my head move on with life and love. |
