The stars are out, shining bright
but the monster lurks, in the night

wherever I look, the monster’s there
haunting my thoughts- his lair

there is no rest, no reprieve
I can’t be happy, I only grieve

He taints my feelings, turns them blue
I yearn for the light, all clear and new

I can’t escape his constant lies
With not even my heart as an ally

The internal battle rages on
I feel myself drowning, I’m too long gone

That had a lot of heart.
That's a deep outlook for someone your age.
Good amount of rhyme in this piece to.
Keep writing Dark.

About the time we feel we are at the end of our rope, a hand reaches out every time.  Nicely done.
