Borrowing a Few...

What is it that was once seen,
for it must have disappeared.
No longer are there telling signs
since life has interferred.

Time has passed, more than it should.
I wait the New Year's begin,
reflecting now the moments of
a newer me within.

"A rose, a tear, a stone" in thought,
"dreams she has not seen".
Pages out of tell tale books,
wondering the mean.

It's just a cry of war time fears
"the flesh of hurt", the kiss
from one another to be denied,
these words, not to dismiss.

For beauty is, as beauty does
though meaningless sometimes.
Tomorrow is another day
to seek the world of rhymes.

Howdy, M.

I enjoyed this poetic weaving of truisms!

"reflecting now the moments of
a newer me within."
~ Yes, I find myself doing that as well with
the approach of the new year.

"Tomorrow is another day
to seek the world of rhymes."
~ and may you continue to write them!

May all your dreams be manifested in the coming new year!

Warm hug,
Linda

Dear Maureen,
this is very cute and I enjoyed the way you wove in those titles.

Perfectly rendered expectations.

All the best for the New Year, dear Poetess!

Love and hugs.

I love the way you've woven in imagery from other poems. For me, life on the blue pages is a harmonious blending, creating a rich tapestry of shared and renewed thoughts and emotions.
Nicely done, Maureen.

Thank you Linda, I don't dream much anymore, but I do pray for better times for all.

ethome, well I started out with a poem about myself but then some titles caught my eye and helped me complete the poem.  Thank you for stopping by.

Margherita, sometimes when my  mind is overwhelmed I use others' thoughts to help express myself. Thank you.

yann,  nice of you to stop and respond Thank you.

BC - did I ever mention to you that you are such a wonderful caring friend? (and that I miss you when not around)

Midnitesun, thank you. Yes, I am often inspired by the words of others especially when I need that "pick me up".

Wishing everyone a happier and healthier New Year.
