The yellow toothbrush
in a clear plastic cup
surrounded by two tubes
of give-away paste

waits for its next great event
in our guest bathroom.
It sighs and looks away…
like Meryl Streep waiting
for her next Oscar….

Like Tammy Wynette
waiting for her next man.
