Wanting More

I told you it was yesterday that
calloused my hands...
Willing to touch you,
but unwilling to hold you.

So, when did you see past my disguise?
Was it revealed in my eyes?
This part of me I wished to remain silent
whispered only to myself in sleepless nights.

Once, I preferred we stay strangers,
Acquainted only by good morning nods
with no time to manage a smile.

All the while,
quietly watching when we thought
the other was preoccupied
with mindless days,
longer than we'd both like.

And once I took another corridor,
hoping distance would banish thoughts of you.

So easy to say.
Much harder to do.

And now it is...
Me, alone with you-

Wanting more.

Pat,
so good to see you posting again and so very, very good to see it on such a powerful write...if I had a hat, it would be off!

Please say hi to Macy for me.  Let her know we miss her youthful exuberence.  (Patricia holds a special place in my heart--she introduced me to PiP when we were neighbors)

Dear Patricia, welcome back!! I do hope you will stay a while! I missed you much. Nice to hear about the connection with dear Steaven. I appreciate you both very much!

Your poem is so profound and exquisitely written! I will read it more than once.

Love and hugs.

A true pleasure to read you and you penned some moments that I believe many of us can relate to.  Go explore the oceans without thought of losing site of the shore.  Enjoyed
