Shuttered
Windows
Spider webs
Under
Wooden eaves

No one
Of course
Comes here
Anymore

And yet
Late at night
When the wind
Is summer soft
And a new moon
Glows

While small stars
Waltz above
The fragrant grass
On the long
Backyard

Glints of light
In the fireplace

A creaking
Of the stairs

two minor questions:

1. was this intended to be 'shuttered' windows?

2. by 'new moon' may we assume that this does
not refer literally to the actual 'new moon' phase
occurring when it passes between the earth
and the sun (as it is typically invisible rather
   than glowing during said phase)?

I am particularly fond of:

"Late at night
When the wind
Is summer soft
And a new moon
Glows"

and the ending:

"Glints of light
In the fireplace

A creaking
Of the stairs"

much applause for this 'penning'!

Bruce,

Yes to both.
Thanks for the catch.

And with these words you remove all the cobwebs that linger somewhere ...

Very nice.
