Life's Compromise
- by The Vestibular Bard

How we loathe you, reaper grim!
The ruthless hand that seals our fate...
You dash the hopes, we hold within,
Our very dreams you confiscate.
Some will claim they know the cure,
Though I’d be one, who’s not so sure,
Perhaps some judge me, thus unwise,
But I accept life’s compromise.
Happy for these days well granted,
I seize the gift, accept my fate...
Dancing ‘neath this time, enchanted,
From dust I came, more dust awaits.

A fine carpe diem attitude. It's true, we might as well enjoy life while we have it.

I agree with Kacy, Enjoy while you can. We all travel the same path, sooner or later.

"From dust I came, more dust awaits"

love that last line...it puts the entire write in a proper perspective...nicely done
