In a moment of infinite loss to these poetry boards,
(Well, two thirds loss cause Toerag always mangles words)
'Deer, Toe and Long John found themselves on a Christmas Day,
Talking to St. Peter, just outside the pearly gates.

All three characters knew their chances would be pretty slim
For getting past St. Peter, and spending eternity within.
But St. Peter was feeling charitable, and had prepared a test,
The scalawags and Long John had to answer St. Peter's request.

"Just show a piece of evidence that Christmas was on your mind,
When you met your timely fate and left the world behind.
Search through your pockets now, and if you can reveal,
A piece of Christmas with you, then your sentence will be repealed."

Long John stepped forward, his car keys in his hand,
"What's this," St. Peter questioned, failing to understand.
"Whenever I hear my car keys jingling," Long John said in reply,
"I think of church bells ringing Christmas on that silent night."

Next Balladeer stepped forward, his Bic lighter flame alight,
"What's this," St. Peter questioned, marvelling at the sight.
"Whenever I light a cigarette (it's why I'm here today),
I think of the Wise men using the Star to guide them on their way."

Poor Toerag stepped forward, a pair of silk panties held aloft,
"What's this," St. Peter questioned, completely at a loss.
"I remember why I'm here tonight, a jealous husband was my demise.
"These panties remind me of my last Christmas, they're Carol's!" Toerag replied.

Yep - that scalawag Toe is gonna get his just desserts!

Merry Christmas to you all, and Happy Hannukah to you all, too.  And similar wishes to everybody else.  May you all have a blessed year of peace and happiness.

Yep, that's Toerag. Wouldn't even let go of them while being beaten to death.

Nice tail, Long John...
