.

The name
Has changed—

And of course
The restaurant is under
Different management
Nothing remains the same

No one
Is going to turn
Much less come
To our table
These days to say
What a beautiful couple
We make  That cup
Has passed with time

Outside the sunlight
Turns the snow
A faint pale blue
While new flakes fall
Softly upon
The stoic pines

We sit after dinner
Sipping white wine
Closer to the fire
Than we would have
Before

You stroke my hand
I touch your hair

Fine 'slice of life' impressionistic imagery and Romanticism!

I am especially fond of:

"Outside the sunlight
Turns the snow
A faint pale blue
While new flakes fall
Softly upon
The stoic pines"

serious, sustained applause for this 'penning'!
