                 Value

Ahead…

a lone heron fog-floating
    into sunset

Behind…

a mountain moon rolling
   up barren slopes
in the winter-evening
   twilight

Above…

a galaxy turning
on some grand pivot
   of the universe

Below …

a forest lake reflecting
   our finest dreams

what value
hold the concerns
   of men?

Indeed, "What value hold the concerns of men?" Reminds me of "If a tree falls in the forest...I will be keeping this one.

Bruce,

I think this is one of the finest poems that you have posted in PiP.  Thank you for sharing it with us.

Thinking of you,

In the light of eternity, our concerns really do not matter anymore.

Wonderful write, dear Bruce!

.

Drop
The "?"
at the end
and the '''s
around "concern"

Don't preach . . .
Then you've got
a good poem

I agree pursuant to the quotation marks; but, I fail to see how correct punctuation is connected with preaching.
