She’s not but needs to be an island in the sun
together but apart from life’s emotive waves
rolling ever near her store of empathy
and breaking down her wall of impassiveness.

Brick by brick it crumbles; ‘tis no feather touch delight
but a crash and roar and rumble by forceful intent
that throws her detachment into the sea of feel
and leaves her floundering in the now unseen.

And the sea is not devoid of free-flowing tears
or the heartache of one bent and battered, bruised.
and yet she swims unscathed to materialise again
in the guise of the unknowing and immovable.

An island in the sun; ‘tis a paradise for some
and a wish, a hope, a need,  for she who seeks to be
a concrete pillar sunken in a determined stance
to not fall prey to waves of the emotive kind.

But the sea of human beings full of rolling waves
flows ever on and on until she is dead and gone!

We cannot fight the sea of emotions so we might as well go with the flow.

Honey, your brilliance came shining through this poem. I do so enjoy your metaphorical writing ~ especially when it involves the ocean.

Love to you!
