Winter Wonderings

What is it that makes me look forward to Winter?
Why do I like watching it snow?
How can so many people gather to look at the lights?
Even when it’s 20 below?

When Autumn colors fade, and Winter draws near,
And the days grow shorter and cold,
I wait for the first hint of frost on the grass,
While remembering the days of old,

We have waited all year for the Holiday season,
Pretty ribbons of red and green,
Decorations, carols, presents, and joy,
Yes, these are my favorite things,

We pull loved ones round us like a homemade quilt,
And share the warmth of the fires light,
Like the heat that’s in that old Yule log,
It’s love that makes our hearts glow bright.

So, let it snow let it snow, let it snow,
Let the Winter Wonderings entwine,
When you ask why I like this time of year,
I will simply say,   “IT’S DIVINE”

The answer is always NO, Until the question is asked.

I felt the warmth of your words. You expressed the joy and the beauty of the season so poetically!

Yes, a divine time of year as you have divinely scribed!

Blessings of joy,
Linda

You write of winter and snow as though you  really love it.  I would guess you would have to, living with it where you are.

I LOVED YOUR OTHER SEASONAL POEMS.  I look forward to seeing your writes.

Hope you have a white CHRISTMAS.
