"someone who knows how to find the grays of nature on their palette"
Vincent to Theo, 1882

Red, yellow, blue...
the basic vibrant colors of life
that yield the composites
of green, orange, purple.
Blend in varying bits of black or white,
and you have it all,
the diversity of all tones and shades.

Vincent taught me how to see
yellow green leaves
tinged with blacks and blues,
a sky with grays hidden in brightest cobalt blue.
Sunflowers alive with mustard gray green,
crows iridescent, in contrasting hues.

To see the world through his palette-eyes
opened mine to the beauty of shades of gray,
the truth of nature without disguise.
I will forever be grateful
for the color master
who painted life itself,
Vincent van Gogh.

"Vincent taught me how to see"

...as he did so many.

... SAVED faster than you can say "rainbow".

Van Gogh was a 'primary' "color master" and 'secondary' to none!

'Brilliant' piece of writing, Kacy.

This is sooooooo special for soooooooooo many reasons.  I too love grays and the grace and peace they bring.

I also remember that you have written several poems about Van Gogh and that he is a favourite of yours, as he is of mine.
