The Sound of Snowflakes

The snow was softly falling,
We stood there hand in hand,

And listened to the snowflakes,
As they would gently land,

The hushed silence is chilling,
The whispers loud and clear,

Falling snow makes the most beautiful sound,
That you will ever hear.

I hope this won't  offend you because I think this is a lovely poem but when I read the last line I automatically read "that you will never hear" taking the cue from the the silence of the falling snow.

Oh, this is very lovely and it brings back memories that I will never forget and always yearn to live again! You captured the hush of snow very beautifully!

Thank you all for your wonderful comments.

Ida,  I see what you mean in the line, However, what I am describing is the quiet that falls all about as the snow falls.
The city gets quiet, the noises of life seem to settle, and if you listen, You will hear the snow fall.  It is a whisper, but you really can hear it.  It is sureal.
To get an amplified sound of snowfall, go outside with an umbrella open in a heavy snowfall and listen to it on the top.

Here's hoping we all can enjoy the snow and have a White Christmas.     Love to all WT.

Aww, the hush of winter silence as snowflakes fall is soft descent.

I can also appreciate communing with a loved one in companionable silence.

Lovely penning!

May your winter world be a land of wonder!
