                  Sunburn

Greg and wife Mary always doted on each other
With understanding and love from the start,
Greg’s dressing persona was always in doubt
While Mary’s dress sense was always quite smart.

They hadn’t been on vacation for quite a few years
And decided to go to a fancy beachside resort,
Saying goodbye to their family with a minimum of tears,
Leave your troubles behind you was what they’d been taught.

Finally arriving at this beautiful beachside resort,
They gazed out over an ocean that had them inspired,
Mary looked quite a sort in her new bathing suit
But I’m afraid poor old Greg left a lot to be desired.

Mary decided there & then to buy Greg some new shorts
For a smart dresser was the picture she wanted to portray,
So she went down to the shops and picked out a nice pair
And got him to change into them without any delay.

At last he looked like a smart man of some renown
And she was quite pleased at the purchase she’d done,
So they both settled back in a couple of chairs
And started to enjoy the heat of a rather hot sun.

It wasn’t too long before Mary went back inside
While Greg dozed off to sleep in his chair,
Two hours slipped away before he woke up
To find his legs were burnt red & him in despair.

Both he and his wife were both quite upset
And she said ‘you will have to go and see the Doc,
I’ve never see such a bad case of sunburn
Right from your new shorts to the top of your socks’.

On inspection the doctor said he could apply a gentle salve
And perhaps a double dose of Viagra might help Greg
Greg’s wife said  ‘how could that possibly help him,’
Doc said ‘well at least it’ll keep the sheet off his legs’

To all you wonderful people, Amusemi, Alison, Ida, Helen , Linda and Steav, the fact that you all had a laugh when you read

this gives me a wonderful warm feeling inside, for people who are laughing cannot

be sad at the same time. Thanks so much for taking the time to respond. God bless you all.
