There are spirits that in quiet walk
Upon my soul in whispered tone
All leaving footprints and their mark
Upon the dreams that now are shown

A mist eludes their path of been
Not darkness, nor a light to see
They walk their journey ever forward
And as they do, befriending me

Of ancient times and mystic way
They chant and in alliance dance
As fires of their past all burn
In wonder I enjoy the trance

Nomads in my land of thought
Befriending both my soul and muse
These wanderers that tell and sort
The many thoughts that still confuse

They question where my soul has been
Its journey here and where is home
And who the many it has seen
And who the faces it had known

Together sharing time and bond
With tales of tell and what had been
The journey’s start and what’s beyond
My picture wall of what they'd seen

I rest now here in open mind
Among the thoughts of spirit rest
And in their presence I now find
That quiet times become my best

Dear Rick, this is a very peaceful and also uplifting message, written with your usual mastery.

You are so right, in quiet times we SEE more and HEAR more and it is a precious gift.

This was an absolute pleasure to read and not only because of the composition but because of the content.  I want to say, "By Jove, he's got it" because you well and truly have but then again we can't suddenly get what we've always had.  You tell "it" remarkably well so thank you for that.

Rick, I always know that you will tie up your poems perfectly with your closing stanzas.

That quiet times become my best"

Rick, I always stop to read when I see your name. Time does not always allow me to reply, But this is so touching and so dear I had to stop in and tell  you I liked it and to thank you.  "late"

The title drew me in and with each verse I was drawn deeper.  Wonderful penning here and one that I can really get lost in. Nice flow, captivating from beginning to end and just pure peaceful pleasure to read.
