I sit facing the frigid arctic wind
wondering silently
what the fall of night might bring.
Soon, a frosted crescent November moon
will hang in anticipation,
waiting for some sign
of winter’s most stellar magnificence,
the rainbow of dancing lights.

Lady Aurora never disappoints.

Like some magical ballroom dancer
dressed in a sparkling glittering gown,
she twirls and spins in a dazzling myriad
of electric blues and greens, violets,
bold splashes of cream and orange
and sometimes, reds.
Whatever she gifts you
captivates, holds you spellbound.
Those who live under her natural power
never tire of her mesmerizing beauty and grace.

I still see her magnificent dance
when I close my eyes on a frigid cold night,
though I no longer live near the arctic circle
‘neath the northern polar queen,
the rainbow of dancing lights.
Once you experience the northern lights,
they remain part of you forever.

I saw them once in Montana when I was out in the boon-docks in the middle of the night and they were mostly green, but I know what you mean about the dancing...I'll never forget how they shimmered.  Beautiful write BTW.

Something I have always wanted to see, Kacy
and your words probably brought me as close to the Northern Lights as I'm ever going to get. Just beautiful.

Kacy, the tears are coursing down my cheeks at the sheer beauty of your words and the magnanimity and strength and purity of your spirit, despite the health struggles you are having to overcome every day.  May your path back to health be blessed with more and more flowers every day as well as shady trees with sunlight filtering through in just the right amounts.

Love and very, very gentle hugs
- Owl

I must add this to my list of things to see...until then? I need to say thank you for all that I've seen through your eyes.
