I'm counting the seconds away, sitting with my head hung
I won't see my love 'til the finish of the day, after the bell has rung.
My head rattles with one thousand thoughts
All of a boy whose heart I have caught
I do not wish to return it, yet at sometime I must
For I know holding it hostage would surely be unjust.
From being in his presence, I gather he needs more;
More than my average face, or my existence I'm sure
God gave me the love of this amazing man and he'll take it from me
That's the way it always works and how it will always be.

You sound like a smitten kitten!

Personally, I would not want a man to
"take" my love but would rather he accept
the love that I may be offering and not
expected of me.

You appear to be a very sweet, sensitive young woman who is deserving of only the best.

I dunno, holding a hostage might be nice.  I like this one.

GothicCherry - don't ever sit with your head hung. If it's mean to be it will be, if not, well then it won't. Nice write...

though it may be a little on the fatalistic side, sounds like 'hostage' may be leading the pack for an appropriate name...nice write, whatever you decide to call it
